How to Lose Water Weight

If you’ve ever wondered if there were a way to get rid of excess water that your body may be retaining, then the answer is that there are several ways in which you can do this. Water retention, or edema, which is its medical name, is more common than you might expect. Here we give you some tips on how to lose water weight.

The first thing that you should do if you’re worried about water retention is to go and see your doctor, who can test you for anything that may be medically connected, just to be on the safe side.

While it can be the result of one of several medical conditions, water retention can also simply be a result of bad diet and by making some simple changes in your diet, you can help your body to remove the excess fluid from body tissue and reduce your weight at the same time. Sort of like a quick weight loss diet without the hard work!

So as long as your doctor has ruled out any medical conditions causing your water retention, then its time to get started on looking at what’s wrong in your diet.

There are four main reasons why your diet can be causing water retention and paying attention to any one or a combination of these can be your ticket to lower water retention levels or getting rid of it altogether. They are excess salt, excess refined sugar, lack of proteins and lack of amino acids and the vitamin B group.

So first, look at your salt intake and if you think its high, then cut some out of your foods. Watch out for processed foods, which, if you want to lose weight you should cut out of your diet anyway, as they contain a lot of hidden salt (also labeled sodium). Same goes for refined sugar (that’s white, granulated sugar to you!). Stop taking sugar in tea and coffee (they really do taste better without it). Stop drinking sugary soda drinks, sports isotonic drinks, cordials, fruit juices with added sugar, all processed foods (if it comes in a ready-meal packet in the supermarket, its processed), pizza, burgers, savoury snacks (yes, they contain sugar as well as salt!), cakes, biscuits, pies, pastries and chocolate or candy bars.

Increase your intake of foods high in protein, such as meat, fish, nuts, seeds, fresh fruit and vegetables. Also take cod liver oil caps and walnuts to boost omega 3 and 6 and honey or molasses to boost your B vitamins, although you will also get them from the above foods in your diet.

White it may seem counter productive, you should actuality drink MORE plain water and herbal teas and green tea to help flush the excess fluids from your body tissues.

Do all these things and this is how to lose water weight naturally without needing to resort to diuretic pills (which should only ever be taken under prescription from your doctor and never for more than a few days). Lastly, get some exercise if you are not already, especially walking and swimming.

Lose Weight in Your Sleep

some people will look at you and think you’re raving mad of you tell them that you can lose weight in your sleep. But that’¡e exactly what you can do and here I’m going to tell you how you really can sleep and lose weight!

First of all, you have to do things while you’re awake that will cause the weight to continue to drop off while you sleep. There are two main things that you should do, which are, surprise, surprise, eating a good diet and getting plenty of exercise every day!

Ok, so I said two very bad things, but come on. You want to lose weight, right?

Then you’re going to have to do some work, have some input into making it happen, because it won’t happen if you do nothing! So cut out all the crap food you’re eating and start eating healthily for heaven’s sake! Then get up off your lazy arse and do some exercise!

Right, back to losing weight in your sleep. This is how it works folks.

When you exercise during the day, you make your muscles work and the harder you exercise the harder those muscles work. During strenuous exercise, certain muscles will suffer slight damage and tearing of the tissues. Don’t worry, this is normal and actually a good thing as long as the damage is not severe, which is what can happen if you try to do too much too soon. You have to build up your exercises to a level that is gradually more strenuous every day.

What happens next is nothing short of miraculous.

After your exercises, you must rest. This is vital not only to your ability to exercise more each day, but for the strength and stamina building process to complete, which has a knock on effect of causing weight loss.

When you rest, like for instance sleeping, your muscles go into repair mode and start fixing all the tiny tears and strains that you caused through the exercise you did earlier. This process takes several hours, which is why you should aim at a good 8 hours sleep every night. While your muscles are repairing, they are using energy to make those repairs and to create new muscle tissue to strengthen the muscles in readiness for the next day’s exercise.

While your muscles are using that energy, it has to come from somewhere, right? Well, it comes from your stored up fat cells. Which means that while you are asleep and your muscles are repairing themselves, you are burning fat and at the same time losing weight literally in your sleep.
